Tofu Cutlet

Tofu is low in calories, contains beneficial amounts of iron (especially important for women of child-bearing age) and has no saturated fat or cholesterol. Depending on the coagulant used in manufacturing, the tofu may also be high in calcium ,important for bone development and maintenance, and magnesium (especially important for athletes). Tofu also contains soy isoflavones, which can mimic natural human estrogens .These tofus r prepared from soyamilk, these r similar to cheese that we get from milk..This cutlet is purely my creation..

1cup Boiled potatoes
1cup tofu grated
1cup Onion Chopped
1/2tsp Red chilli powder
1/2tsp fennel seed powder
1/2tsp garam masala powder
2nos green chillies chopped
2tsp coriander leaves
2tbsp corn flour
1/2tsp cumin seed powder
5nos curry leaves
2tsp oil
1/2cup bread crumbs
salt
Oil for shallow frying

Heat oil in a pan..once the oil is hot, add the chopped onions n stir them continously until they turns transculent, cut the boiled potatoes into small pieces r smash them with ur fingers into pieces, add the smashed potatoes pieces to the onion n stir them, now add the fennel seed powder, chilli powder, cumin seed powder, salt, garam masala powder, green chillies.. cook them well for while, once they r well cooked now add the grated tofu to the potatoes masala...put the flame in simmer n cook everything for 5 minutes, put off the stove, add the chopped cilantro leaves n curry leaves, taste for salt if its not enough add salt as per taste..keep aside n let them cool....

Take enough amount of potatoes-tofu masala n make them as cutlets, meanwhile mix corn flour with water n make them as thin batter..

Dip the cutlets into the cornflour batter n roll them in bread crumbs..keep aside..make all the masalas as cutlets..Now heat oil for shallow fry n fry each cutlets until they turn brownish colour..Fry them in batches..dont overcrowd..

Spicy n crispy Tofu Cutlets r ready to eat..can be a side for every rice dishes as well as evening snacks..kids will love it for the sure n adults too..
